After being woken by the sounds of seagulls, it was nice to have a full Scottish breakfast before our late start around 10.30.
With the rain now past, the sun out and the skies blue we put the roof down on the car and decided to back track and visit The Bone Caves. The scenery looked so different and vast now that we could see it all so clearly.
Oh wow, what a stunning walk only 3 miles, took an hour and half up to 4 caves, views were spectacular and the walk idealic alongside a stream which at places just magically appeared out of the grass.
With the sun still out we decided to drive to Corrieshalloch Gorge and do the 2 little walks there. Again so pretty and a surprise suspension bridge to cross over the 45m deep gorge as well.
We then drove back into Ullapool, parked up and had a little walk around the harbour watching the tenders go back and forth across to a cruise ship.
It was quite late in the day and I was feeling a little peckish but only in need of a small snack. Having looked at the Seafood Shack, which did all look delicious but large meals as opposed to snacks we decided to head back to The Ceilidh Place (where we are staying) grab a pint and some crisps and sat outside in the last of the sun enjoying them.
He who doesn’t always know best then decided we should go for a run! My ankles weren’t good so I only managed 2 miles and Dave carried on a bit further.
We showered and redid the packing cubes for the next few days and we were ready for a night on the town. Ha ha, it’s only Ullapool so a restaurant (a proper fish one at last) followed by some live music in a pub.
