A bit of information for you all – Val Cenis links 3 villages (Val Cenis Lanslevillard, Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Val Cenis Termignon). We are staying at the middle one. The ski area covers 125km, with 65 runs and 29 lifts. The resort is at 1400 metres going up to 2800 metres so a high altitude resort.
Today we are planning to ski across to Lanslevillard and spend the day skiing there. So with another sunny day ahead of us it was breakfast at 8.30 and a ski start of just after 9.30.
After just over 3 hours of skiing, we had completed 7 runs and clocked 12 miles and had gone to a height of 2520 metres. We even managed the Mickey Mouse run! The slopes were slightly more busier than where we had skied previously but generally we had the slopes to ourselves.
Lunch was paninis in a cafe down in Lanslevillard once again sitting in brilliant sunshine. The temperature just above zero but at the top of the slopes it was around -10.
For the afternoon session we headed back to our village via the viewpoint of Lake Mount Cenis where we stopped for a quick snack on probably one of the best views from a picnic table.
I managed my first tumble on a red, luckily my skis stayed on so I did manage to get back on feet fairly quickly. We had skied another 7.5 miles so just under 20 for the day.
After a quick shower we put our ski clothes back on as we were going to get the free shuttle bus back to Lanslevillard to do an evening toboggon run. It was so weird getting the chairlift up the slope without skis.
At the top we grabbed our sledges and set off down a green run. Being so close to the ground and picking up speed it was quite exhilarating. We both fell out a number of times!
Luckily at the bottom there was a handily placed restaurant so we popped in and ordered burger and chips for dinner.
The shuttle bus was on time and we decided to have a few drinks in the bar before bed.

Omg -10 😳 this is why I know skiing isn’t for me!
