We had a bit of a start at 4.30 when I thought our alarm was going off but it was actually our daughter-in-law to be phoning with a question! She had even looked up the time difference here but got it wrong as although the clocks had gone forward in the UK, they don’t change here until Easter weekend.
We then woke around 8, showered and packed the suitcases and rucksacks as we were on the move again. We were heading to Brisbane, Queensland on the east coast of Australia, our 4th and final territory.
After checking out around 9.30 we headed for the GOCA, the Gallery of Central Australia. It definitely had some amazing pieces of aboriginal art, some of which were extremely expensive as well.
We then checked out some of the shops in the town centre before going to the cafe for some croissants and coffee for breakfast.
A final walk around the resort and then back to our hotels reception to wait for the coach transfer to the airport for the 2.15 flight to Melbourne.
Both flights (5 hours flying time total) were pretty uneventful and both landed and arrived at the gates 5 minutes earlier than scheduled. We did grab a pie at Melbourne airport for our dinner!
We were a little worried with the timings of getting the last train from the airport to Brisbane City but a first for us was our suitcases were already going round the conveyor belt when we got there so we got to the train station with 9 minutes to spare.
It was a 15min walk to the hotel and we finally checked in at around 10.30 and after a hot drink fell into bed.
