Day 5 – Meet the Family

Not going to lie was a tad tired when the alarm went off at 8.00.  Managed to drag myself out of bed, showered and dressed and was having breakfast at 9.15.

We had a big day ahead of us, meeting Caitlin’s mum, brother and grandparents.  Leaving late morning with a change of clothes for later we headed off to the town of Newtownards.

After a brief hello to Emma (Caitlin’s mum) we headed off to Scrabo Tower for a walk with Abbie, Caitlin and her brother Finn.

We parked up and began the walk to Scrabo Tower.  The weather didn’t disappoint and the sun was fully out for our 500ft ascent in just over a mile.

The views at the top were absolutely amazing and Caitlin pointed out all the places of interest. The wind had picked up at this height so we didn’t stay long before starting the mile back down.

Having worked up quite an appetite we headed to the local bakery to stock up with savoury and sweet treats for lunch which we ate back at Caitlin’s house.

Caitlin with Finn’s assistance then gave a tour of their beautiful house and garden, which was topped off with Finn not only playing but singing along to ‘Twitchy’ on his drum kit.

We ended the day with all eight of us going to Sugar Rays for dinner in Dundonald. After a bit of furniture arranging we managed to all get seated together and had a very enjoyable meal before going our separate ways.

Being our last evening in Bangor we thought we’d walk into town for one final drink and popped into Wolseys.
