The weather had finally turned and we woke to heavy rain which put paid to our little walk we had planned. So we had a more relaxed final breakfast, packed our bags and managed to escape from our very chatty host Paul.
We drove back to Belfast and booked tickets for the Titanic Experience. We spent a good few hours going around all the exhibits and reading all the stories about Belfast and the building of the Titanic.
We’d definitely recommend coming here if over this way.
With the skies clearing a bit we had a bit of a walk around, popped on SS Nomadic and then walked to see the Big Fish (not sure the walk to this is worth it!)
With a bit more time to kill we went in the Titanic Hotel for a drink in what was once one of the very elaborate drawing offices.
Next stop we drove through Belfast (we’ve definitely got the hang of this now) and parked up in Cave Hill Country Park for the short walk up to Belfast Castle. It’s a fab looking castle but you can’t really see much inside it and the grounds are quite small but it is all free.
Our final stop was a pub called Foxes not far from the airport, where we had dinner. Then after filling the car up with petrol we dropped the hire car off and went into the airport to await for our flight.
Being one of the last flights of the day the airport was quite quiet and we sat there watching some of the US Open tennis before being called for our flight.
With no delays and no baggage to collect we were back to the car in no time and got home around 1ish.
