Day 7 – The final ski

After a very nice sleep with some normal crazy dreams thrown in for good measure, we were up for our final day skiing.

Breakfast was very busy and not that I’m a creature of habit but there were no eggs left on the buffet! I was told they would be back tomorrow so I went for some bacon and beans. Then some appeared so I did get my 2 boiled eggs after all.

We were out on the slopes at 10.00, the weather had turned and although there was patchy blue sky the winds were up and it was chilly even at the bottom of the slopes. The wind was supposedly 70km at the peak.

We went over to Termignon and it definitely was windy and chilly at the top but you only had to ski a little way down for better conditions. We skied here for 2 hours going all the way to the bottom before taking 2 chair lifts to stop at a restaurant for our final hot chocolate and beer in the remains of the sun. Definitely nowhere as busy as it had been before as I think most people were inside!

We didn’t stop for long as we were getting cold, we took the drag lifts to the top twice more and then headed back to our village. The sun was hidden by clouds by the time we got back and there was a little snow in the air.

I stopped for a further hot chocolate, whilst Dave went up to do one final run.

Our tally for the week just under 110 miles & we reckon we must have covered around 90% of the total ski area here. I think our legs and knees had survived slightly better than my ski gloves!

Back at the hotel we showered, had a read and then started packing. Around 7pm we went down to the bar where we played Jaipur (I beat him) before heading into the hotel restaurant for our final dinner in Val Cenis.
